Guest
Hi Natasha you do seem a little stressed! We make sure there are maths opportutnities in as many areas as possible in both the indoor and outdoor so that at child initiated time especially children can use the skills we have taught in our small group times. We still teach in small groups as we find this most effective but we also have large group times where we may sing songs and play games that have a mathematical content. We use the BEAM books for ideas and they have some great titles have a look here http://www.beam.co.uk/product_detail.php?d...amp;prod_id=370 this is one of my favourites! If you have a maths PNS consultant coming in to owrk with you why not take the chance to pick their brains after all that is what they are there to do! Maybe make sure you have lots of maths opportunities in all of your areas and then during child initiated support these opportunities wherever possible and let the LA person see this then have a conversation afterwards about your good provision and how you could enhance this.
