Just letting you all know about some training coming up in London led by some startlingly good people. I've had some Dalcroze training from one of the leaders and she was superb - engaging and knowledgable. Here's an extract of the flyer and I've uploaded the flyer if you need more info. Music and Movement Training for Early Years, Music and Dance Practitioners in the UK Friday 23rd October 2009 9.00am – 3pm Cost £50 per person. Experienced training staff from Stepping into Music (an innovative early years workshop and accredited training programme, based on Dalcroze principles), and Music House for Children (a specialist music provision and training school for young children) will provide practical workshops, seminars and discussion opportunities for anyone interested in Early Years music and movement. All are welcome – members of the early years workforce with an interest in developing basic skills in music and/or movement, as well as professional musicians and dancers who want to explore working in an Early Years context. All participants will Experience movement and dance using the Dalcroze inspired approach Learn to use and understand appropriate instruments Enjoy new songs and activities Understand how music and movement can be applied successfully in early years settings Take part in practical workshops and creative seminars Share ideas and experiences with colleagues from both the early years and performing arts sectors What do participants take home?
