Guest
I have no voice, can only whisper. I don't have a sore throat but did a couple of days ago but only lasted a day. Started going croaky last night and today very difficult to get a sound out unless I whisper. Anyone got any good tips for getting it back? Good thing I'm on half term at the moment but ever so annoying. ppp
Guest
I have had this exact same thing for over a week - including during our Ofsted visit! It is starting to get better now - its fine until I raise my voice or try to sing. I think its just a matter of time and trying to rest it. Hope you feel better soon x
AnonyMouse_8466
For a sore throat I always gargle with dissolvable aspirin. I don't swallow though! Hope you get better soon! Maz
AnonyMouse_19762
Hi ppp Sorry to hear that you are suffering........honey and lemon in hot water can be really soothing.......if it goes on for too long perhaps you should see your GP. Hope you get better soon! Sunnyday P.S. - I suspect my family would be thrilled if I lost my voice!
AnonyMouse_15046
HAve a look at the advice here (it includes Maz's aspirin gargle) http://www.patient.co.uk/health/Laryngitis.htm

AnonyMouse_73
Must be doing the rounds as Ive also had a nasty dose of laryngitis. Rest, warm drinks, lemon and honey, thats pretty much it really. Hope you're feeling better soon. This does highlight the point that most of us never had voice training.. Guest
I'm in the same position too and only can reinforce lots of rest, liquids - orange squash is very good and apparently better than plain water (there was a study out earlier this year saying it was better than water). There is a video on teachers TV about looking after your voice and has some good tips - also voice care network has some tips too but when I last looked on their website they were doing it up. Hope it gets better soon, L
Guest
Vocalzone throat pastilles are really good as well as the previously mentioned honey and lemon and gargling with aspirin. They come in a red packet and are in most chemists.
