Guest
Does anyone know of a good children's digital camera? We want something that the children can use that is simple and takes good photos. The VTech and Fisher Price cameras don't have good reviews and we aren't thrilled with our Tuff Cam. I'd love to know if any of you have a children's camera that you like. Thanks, Ruth
AnonyMouse_4544
I would buy a normal digital camera rather than the children's version. Our children use Sony cyber shot and they cope with being dropped (so far)
AnonyMouse_19762
Hi Ruth - just a quick thought from me - whatever you decide on make sure it has rechargeable batteries! We were able to use some of our ICT grant fund for a camera........but it positively EATS batteries - v. expensive
AnonyMouse_4544
Our new camera's have mini usb ports that allow them to be plugged directly into the mains - no batteries to change
AnonyMouse_79
I agree with Marion. Get a good digital camera and tech the children how to hold and use it. I can never understand why a big chunky camera should be easier for little hands.
Guest
From using various other so called child friendly ICT devices, I agree with Marion and Susan, teach children how to use things that they will actual use in 'real' life. Our head came back from a conference banging on about the digi blue video cameras and bought one for every class but they are nothing like what children would use outside of school and they couldn't hold the trigger down very well either. They had so many technical problems as well. Get a simple normal digital camera and they will be fine.
AnonyMouse_20414
We have recently purchased Vivitar camera's from Argos (£24.99) and so far so good! We even took them on a field trip a few weeks ago and they were brill. Easy to hold and easy to use and won't break the bank if they do happen to get damaged!!! dottyp
