Guest
Hi theredoes anyone else do this and what sort do you include in your risk assessment. any tips gratefully received as I am sick to death of risk assessments Hi there, Sara Knight's book has some very good risk assessment considerations in her book Forest Schools and Outdoor Learning in the Early Years. I am planning constructing a fire pit and using it but not till next term or later I am afraid, so haven't got round to writing risk assessments. AnonyMouse_3139
If I was doing this I'd think about my own experiences. Keep a bucket or two of water nearby. Dont put the hot end of the stick into your hand! Make toast from a distance to prevent it setting alight. Stand down wind of the smoke. Check you have no over hanging vegetation or timber buildings nearby! Inform the neighbours before hand My friend had the firefighters at her door because the neighbours though she had a fire!! Have fun. I love making a bonfire.
