Guest
Help..... I want to put up a notice board outside my reception class for parents. Would anyone be willing to share the sorts of things you display on yours?? I have thought about putting up the luchtime menu, requests for items to be sent in, upcoming topics and copies of letters already sent home. Any more ideas would be fantastic. AnonyMouse_19782
Those ideas all sound great - I would be careful about overloading - parents just won't bother to read! Make it as attractive as possible, the odd photo with a group of children doing something interesting with a short explanation as to why this is EYFS in action etc. Up date info regularly and make it a "must read". Old notices must be removed promptly. On a light note - if there is something specific you want brought in, i.e. a type of box etc. for modelling, staple a sample one to the notice. AnonyMouse_4544
I have a whiteboard so I could write up messages and reminders and a separate board for information sheets, uniform order forms etc and photographs everywhere. All redundant now parents are no longer allowed in school without an appointment.

AnonyMouse_3735
we also had a whiteboard which was part of a bigger board for immediate notices / information , in fact parents always took more notice of this than any printed ones and it only took a few minutes to update. Guest
Thanks for the ideas. I already have a wow board and another with photos with learning in action on, so perhaps I'm doing enough already!
AnonyMouse_1208
How do you balance 'safeguarding' and 'parents as partners'. Our new Head is going down the 'safeguarding' route too.
