Guest Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 HI I wonder if you could help, my sister is doing her NVQ level three and she needs to describe janet moyles theory (bullet points), what does she say about play and then link it to her own everyday practice. my sister will be able to link it to her own practice, but she needs to know a bit about janet moyles, a google search was fruitless. thanks in advance Dawn
Guest Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 if you search for her books you will find loads. She talks about the spiral of play and the adult role. So adults interact with children to take their thinking and learning forward, children then revisit and consolidate their learning through play activities which adults observe and then interact again through talk and further activities etc to move learning forward again. That's basically how it works but in much more depth. She is a real advocate for play as a vehicle for learning. I think she's brill! Hope this makes sense. x
AnonyMouse_5458 Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 I can recommend Just playing? and the excellence of play. 2 excellent books by moyles. There's a bit on google scholar for your sister to read through too. Sam

If you need a bit more help I have reviewed the excellence of play for my FD and can add a copy of that here, it's on my work computer so cannot do it now! Edited February 26, 2010 by Guest
