AnonyMouse_1326
I am interested interested in adding some of the forest school ideas into my outdoor area. Does anyone have any ideas which can be used within a shared garden and also any links which I can put a proposal to the owner of my setting. Thank you in advance Karen x x Edited November 13, 2009 by wellerkaren
Guest
Hi We have a small private woodland on our doorstep so embrace forest school ethos regularly. This has also made us look at our car park, which is our other outdoor area so we use it in a similar way. We use the environment as a learning resource. For example there is a dip in the playground which makes a great puddle. Today we added bubble bath and the kids had a fantastic time running through it to make bubbles. Recently the autumn leaf fall has also given us another natural resource, children love playing with these. The list is endless; I could go on and on. It`s all about letting children have time and space and allowing them the time to explore. Our children are always totally absorbed and engaged and we don`t have a purpose built outdoor area or expensive equipment. Just a concrete and grass car park and lots of natural resources supplied by nature plus the amazing imagination and learning capacity of the children. Hope this helps, Sally
