Anyone Used Talking Tins In Reception?

If so how did the children manage with these and what kind of things did you use them for. I wanted to link this to message but not sure what to do at the moment.x

Hi Scoobydoo, just wanted to pop in and say that I'm sure lots of people have used them in reception, there was a thread back in the summer about this, but can't find it for you, but you may find something if you do a search with the facility at the top of the page.

 

From memory people used them for the children to record descriptions to do with models they had made if they were unable to label them and things like that.

There are a few ideas in this thread here.

 

In addition, they can be used as Panders described to label model or pictures children have made.

They can be used by people with visual impairments to label products (they can be fixed onto tins for example to say 'baked beans; or 'tomato soup' .

They can also be used for EAL learners, you can ask parents to label some things in the classroom in their home language.

They can also be used to pass on messages, if you have children who might forget or who are not yet ready for remembering messages.

 

Their uses are endless really. I think they're great.
