1st Day At New Job

Guest

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

well i survived my first day at the new job, it was good to be working but also bitter sweet because i so miss my old place and there way of doing things.

of course i realise each setting is so unique and i will soon get used to the way of working at the new nursery, and will surely adjust......

i guess its always hard being the new face even when i have worked there many years ago. some things have not changed much at all, which is nice, where as obviously other things have changed and i need to learn the new way of working. I just hope i don't feel like the new person for too long, cos its not really a nice feeling.

Well done for getting through the first day. Being new is always hard but I bet by this time next week you will be well and truly settled in and feel like you've been there for years!!!

Enjoy tomorrow xxx

You'll get there, Dawn!

Every day will become a little easier until you feel right at home - and remember, even your closest friends were strangers once! :o

I've been in my new job for 2 and a half months now and I think it took me at least the first six weeks to feel settled, and I still have a lot to learn, I keep finding new toys, it was unsettling not knowing which child belonged to which parent, and even now I don't have the advantage of knowing the context or background, or who is related to who though I guess that could also be considered an advantage. Give yourself time.
