AnonyMouse_15046 Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 This is a report by Daycare Trust telling the government how much it needs to spend to provide children with the high quality early years education and care outlined in the Ten Year Strategy on Childcare. It's a shame that it focuses quite heavily on the costs of increasing the number of hours of free childcare available to parents and a little less on paying the rates which would attract more highly qualified staff to deliver the care and education. The comparison to the costs incurred by secondary and higher education are interesting, with an acknowledgement that investment in the the early years sector could reduce costs later on. We all knew that already didn't we? It's nice to read and have a little dream about what it could be like...... http://www.daycaretrust.org.uk/data/files/...execsummary.pdf
