Freeflow With Reception And Year 1

Does anyone combine reception and year 1 classes in freeflow? We are thinking of doing it as we have some very poor year 1 children who really need a more reception-type environment but we don't want to compromise our ratios in reception. Thanks for your time!

There are lots of Yr R/yr1 mixed classes around.

We have the problem that we have two reception classes, a year 1 class, a 1/2 class and a straight year 2 class. KS1 only have TAs in the morning and so are reluctant to do freeflow then and in the afternoon they really don't have the staff to do what we do in Reception. Also, the year 2 class is not near the other classes making it a logistical nightmare!
