Guest
Hi there, Pass the parcel is always popular with our little ones (we have at least two going round at the same time, depends on group size). Make it easy for the child to undo the paper themselves. Musical statues, pin the tail on the donkey, sleeping bunnies. They also love circle games such as Farmers in his den, there lived a princess long ago, hokey kokey, ring a ring of roses and so on. Guest
Doing the 'Reindeer Pokey' always goes down well. You put your antlers in,your antlers out, in out in out shake them all about You do the reindeer pokey (splade hands at side of head) and you turn around that whats Christmas is all about. OH Merry Merry Christmas, oh Merry Merry Chriostmas, Oh Merry Merry Christmas, thats whats Christmas is all about.(stay in circle and starting at the floor raise hands up high) fluff tail, glossy coat, polished hooves 'Santa's coming'. The children move around and then the adult shouts 'Santa's coming' and they all have to lie down, cover their eyes and pretend to be alseep. A child who is Santa and wears a santa hat selects a sleeping child and covers them with a throw. When it is done the adult shouts 'Santa's gone' and the children wake up and try to figure out who is missing. The child who guesses gets to wear the hat next. AnonyMouse_665
i am just getting some inspiration what about a variation on corners. Instead of coloured corners have a xmas tree, snowman etc. Normally in corners you have 4 adults holding up a coloured scarf. children dance then when music stops go to a coloured corner. You then get someone to choose a scarf out of a hat without looking. that is the loosing team. Carry on until 3 or 4 children left. buttercup
Guest
Not really games but these go down well with our little ones as everyone can take part..... Three Christmas Trees (Tune: Five Currant Buns) Three Christmas trees in the garden shop Tall and green with a star on the top Along came a child with some money one day Bought a Christmas tree and took it right away Two Christmas trees in the garden shop Tall and green with a star on the top Along came a child with some money one day Bought a Christmas tree and took it right away One Christmas tree in the garden shop Tall and green with a star on the top Along came a child with some money one day Bought a Christmas tree and took it right away (to Dingle dangle scarecrow tune) When everyone was sleeping and the moon had gone to bed…. Up jumped the Christmas elves and this is what they said…. I’m a dingle dangle Christmas elf with a flippy floppy hat, I can shake my hands like this, and shake my feet like that! When everyone was sleeping and the moon behind a cloud up jumped the christmas elves and SHOUTED VERY LOUD.... etc We also play knock down santa or rudolph (or whatever christmassy character you've got) with a beanbag..... everyone sits in a circle with the cuddly toy in the middle and each get a shot... We play Who's Got Santa? Where everyone sits in a circle and one person goes and hides with an adult, counts to 10 whilst the santa is passed around the circle til the one hiding gets to 10 and the child with the santa hides it on their person. The child returns and has to guess who's got santa. The child who had santa is the next one to go and count etc.
