Guest Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 It's good to share! I've just retyped a poster I made ages ago and thought you might like to have a copy too. Enjoy! What_children_retain.....doc
AnonyMouse_13453 Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 Thanks for that - It was on a handout I gave when I did some training on experiential learning when I was at college - many moons ago!
Guest Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 Hehe, maybe we're similar in age then! By the way, I've put it in the resources section too for posterity!
AnonyMouse_8282 Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 thanks for that.... mind you, maybe we should get the parent to.. 'make their own poster' that way they might remember the reason a bit longer!!! xxxxx
Guest Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 Thanks, I love that quote. The version I know ends with "you retain 90% of what you teach to someone else" - in terms of retention, it is even better when you can encourage the children to teach each other. This well known quote is actually based on some scientific research, I think from the 50s or 60s, if you google you will find it.
AnonyMouse_13453 Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 yes, that's right, I believe LJW you could be right!!!
AnonyMouse_8623 Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 Thanks for this LJW.......haven't seen this around for ages.
