Guest
We play a very simpe game (simple in it doesn't take any resources or organisation). We play music and the children move around. We then call out a number or show a numeral card and the chidren have to make a group with that many people in. They find it really easy for 2, 3 and possibly 4, but find it increasingly hard as the number gets larger. It's also quite good/interesting for PHSE because some children are very unwilling to split up from a friendor be the one to move even if they can see another group which just needs one partner. Once the children have managed to get into a group of the correct size they put up their hands, or sit down to show they're ready. Is this the sort of thing you mean? Or am I totally ff track

AnonyMouse_18910
Hi I'm a big fan of Lis Lowe, she's a specialist maths teacher that has developed a program of using music in maths, she's working in our school currently & I have been lucky enough to observe some of her sessions. I'm using her 'fun with number’; program at the moment which teaches number recognition via music & rhymes. http://www.soundskills.co.uk/home.php Hope this helps Nicky.
