Guest
Hi All It has been a while since I wrote in this forum but I read replies regularly. Can anyone help me as I am really struggling to get started on two analytical reports. I have to write one report on working with parents and the wider community and one on promoting independence . How should I go about this as I honestly am struggling here and I just do not feel at this moment I have any direction as to how I write this. Any ideas please. The good things is it only has to be 1500 words each but I have no clue how I start this. Any help would be wonderful here. Thanx x

Thanx x Hi, I'm starting TMA04 of E100 and need to write an analytical report on key areas of learning, I'm having trouble in setting it out on paper. Should an analytical report be showing 2 sides of the points I make i.e positive and negative and is there a set way to write it as ther is in a reflective report;- intro, body and conclusion? Would be grateful for any help. Thanks.
Guest
Hi I've also started my foundation degree, not with OU but through a college. We were given a handout with examples of definitions of Analytical Skills:- What is analysis? "to study or examine something in detail, in order to discover more about it". "your ability to recognise the strengths and weaknesses of the information you have found". "Choosing the pieces of the puzzle...the bits of literature you will use to build your academic argument" - this includes evidence of analysis, integration, synthesis, evaluation" "Analysis on it's own is only part of the picture. Key words include: Impact, Consequences. "But when you analyse, you not only look at what works and why, but what doesn't work and why...you will begin to 'justify' why you do things, particularly in relation to your practice." The CACHE definition (required for level 3/4 skills): "Examine a topic in detail to explore the meaning, essential features and significance. This often requires providing more than one perspective on practice and/or theory".
