Ofsted And Rec Planning

Hi Hoglet

I had the visit in December. They did not seem interested in the planning in the slightest. Their one key question to me was to explain why our provision was good. They were also very interested in use of outside and free flow.

Good luck.

If what they see is effectively meeting children's needs then they will know the planning is underpinning that and don't need to spend time looking at it because they can see it in action!

It isn't necessarily a negative - you plan to ensure children learn, they see children learning, ergo the planning is not a problem.

Planning wasn't looked at but they showed an interest in how different people fed into the assessments of the children eg dinner ladies, parent helpers, playground buddies etc

Also keen to see the children using the planning board to direct their own activities.
