Nursery Rhymes

Well........this is quite difficult as I don't know what you already do! xD

One of our faves is

A wise old owl with a pointed nose

Two pointed ears and claws for his toes

He sits in the tree and looks at you

He flaps his wings and he says T-whit T-whoo!

There are actions with that - sure you can work those out for yourself! :o

Well, one that I've always thought was rather strange - not necessarily advocating you teach this one - not sure how social services would view it :o

Peter, Peter, Pumpkin eater

Had a wife and couldn't keep her

Had another didn't love her

Up the chimney he did shove her.

As sunnyday says, hard to answer without knowing which you already sing.

Action and number rhymes are always good;

Here are grandma's glasses

Dingle dangle scarecrow

London Bridge is falling down

Oranges and Lemons

5 little ducks went swimming one day

5 cheeky monkeys swingng in a tree

5 naughty monkeys jumping on the bed

10 little aliens

Ours like -

Baa Baa Black Sheep

have you any spots?

Yes Sir, Yes Sir

I've got lots!

Some on my tummy

some on my toes

and a very big one on the end of my nose!

and they like '5 cheeky monkeys, swinging through the trees, teasing Mr Crocodile - you can't catch me...........'

Thanks for that, one of our children keeps getting half way through this version and forgetting and I keep meaning to find the rest of the rhyme - now I have!

Our current favourite (well the children's!) is

I'm a tiny caterpillar on a leaf (wiggle wiggle)

I'm a tiny caterpillar on a leaf (wigle wiggle)

I'm a tiny caterpillar, tiny caterpillar

a tiny caterpillar on a leaf wiggle wiggle

I will eat the leave around me until I'm full (munch munch)

[repeat as above]

A cocoon is what I'm spinning for my home (spin spin)

I will be a butterfly and fly away (flap flap)

I think it's sung to the tune of 'she'll be coming round the mountain'
