Lesson Observation-cll

Recommended Posts

Hello folks,

have copied this and am posting it here as well, as put it in the Transport resources section and not sure if it will get seen so quickly... Hope that's ok?

I've got a lesson obs again- don't they come round fast

This time it is on writing. I teach a class of 30 reception children. Quite lively!

Our topic is transport. They've written about where they would like to go on a train.

My lesson ideas so far are

Role play a boat journey.- stream, pool, waterfall, polluted town, sea- outside on a blanket if weather permits

In class, show a golden sentence and children partner talk why it is. Use of visualiser

Write success criteria for golden sentences.

Partner talk ideas for own writing

...BUT I have no ideas for what they could write about! Maybe draw a picture of their boat and describe where it is and what it is like? eg my boat is sinking in the sea? (as is my heart at the thought of being observed!)

Hi,

Don't know if i'm out of time replying. As you work around boats could you filter in a pirate ship? children could write on golden coins - treasure/rubbish words like in Letters and Sounds. For sentences it could be 'message in a bottle' - I/we are lost in the sea", etc.

Thanks free faller,

Have begun to think along these lines! Is always great when a shout out is replied to- feels much more supported.
