A five-year old child in my care will shortly be going into hospital for ear surgery.

I'v had a look on Amazon for books which might help to introduce the subject, particularly the idea of going to sleep while they do it but I couldn't see one which clearly fitted the bill.

Has anyone found a book which is particularly good?

Is there an Usborne rep in your area Upsy Daisy? They do a 'first experiences' range of books and I'm pretty sure one of them must be about going to hospital. Not sure how appropriate they'll be for a big grown up five year old though!

We have The Book People in at the moment - there is an Oxford Reading Tree young readers set. One of which is about going into hospital. Might be worth a look at their website, Upsy Daisy?
