Guest Spiral Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 Just wondering if anyone knows whether the Finances should be submitted at a 'AGM' meeting that could be approximately five months early? It's just a thought as I thought the finances should be submitted anually. Spiral.
AnonyMouse_13453 Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 Our AGMs are either July or September (depending on if I forget ) ) I submit either the accounts as far as they've gone with predicted year end or completed accounts. You can only do a proper 'year end' when it's all finished, otherwise you'd have to do an 'up till now' type of thing.

Are you the treasurer or the manager with a treasurer's hat on? Sorry to ask, but I'm just trying to work out how many committee's actually do the work and how many managers do the work (with someone else's hat on)! Hope that makes sense, spiral.

AnonyMouse_11962 Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 our treasurer used to get the books audited by a local resource centre which does charity etc books cheaply. but they were never done until about 6 months after the end of the financial year so she presented them at the next meeting after that and again at the AGM which was in January. "Sorry to ask, but I'm just trying to work out how many committee's actually do the work and how many managers do the work (with someone else's hat on)!" i did all the cashflows, banking, predicted budgets for the following year/term etc. but i didn't produce end of year accounts or do the payroll - we had a book keeper who emailed payslips through once a month.

This for us depends on who ends up being the Treasurer, we currently have a mum who's an acountant and for her it's a doddle she was with us 5 years ago too. However I am really worried for September as we haven't got anyone 'in line' for the position and our current lady has said she now feels the role is quite large and is getting too important for someone just to 'have a go' at it which does happen a lot. When we don't have someone who knows what they are doing then more does seem to come back my way
