Basic Pre-school Books

I've just started teaching 'Getting Started in a pre-school setting'-the level one course. One of my keener students has asked for some reading suggestions. I'm more used to teaching at level 3 and don't want to suggest anything too compicated or specialist. Does anyone have any recommendations of basic books about pre-school for beginners?
