End Of Year Reports

Recommended Posts

As a school we are changing the format of our end of year reports. The idea is to simplify it, as previously we had boxes for each subject and too much typing. We're planning to have tick boxes and then a general comment box. The rest of the school are planning their format, but I need to think of format for nursery and reception. If anyone has any examples of end of year reports I would be most grateful.

Many thanks

Just my personal view but I avoid tick boxes (to the point of wanting them banned) at all cost and favour a personal narrative. After all a tick box just tell you they "can do" or "can't do" something not describe the involvement in particular types of activities that are enjoyed.

We complete an adapted version of Kent's "My Unique Story" 3 times during the year.

Complete with attainment of the FSP and General coments it gives a picture of the child's well being and development throughout their time with us.

We are putting the lot together with a front page complete with the school badge etc on it and a back page for comments by the parents and child.

For our end of year reports we have a front cover with the school badge childs name etc and the child's photo on the front. Then on the next page we have what the child has achieved and their next steps then we have a personal comments page which includes a comment from the head. We also send home their learning journeys and a cd with all of their photos from the year. The parents are always very positive.
