Eel

Recommended Posts

Hi - i used the EEL programme a few years back now to evaluate & develop practise in a previous setting in which i worked. I was just wondering if anybody has recently used this process & if it proved to be successful (pros/cons). I am in a primary school setting (NUrs & REc). Thanks for any replies. xx

We have the EEL materials from when it was launched in our LA a couple of years ago. I didn't actually get to grips with it, but I think hali used it to good effect. She'll be along sooner or later to confirm!

I think it provides a very good model of self-reflection and improvement, but since the launch here we've moved towards ECERS and now the EYQUISP looks as if it will be the method of choice once our cycle of audits are complete. So EEL is probably just going to be a distant memory for us!

I was told you could use EEL instead of sef for ofsted purposes

You can use anything you like finleysmaid - none of it has been mandatory as far as I'm aware. Just that our LA is using EYQUISP to measure the things they'll be taking into account when deciding our enhancements when and if the single funding formula ever reaches these parts!

I'd say EEL used rigorously and effectively is a great way of monitoring quality, children's involvement and practitioner effectiveness. :o
