A Longue In The Lounge

Guest

Recommended Posts

Hello all!

I have a Victorian chaise longue that I would like re-upholstered. But I have no idea of how much it would cost. If anyone has experience of such things I would love to know more

Thanks

Sorry I can't help with actual cost but I had a similar situation recently. I have a beautiful solid wood circular table that is ancient (I started walking by pulling myself and going around it apparently!) but it has seen better days and I wanted it restored.

I put 'furniture restorers near XXXXX' into google (with my postcode instead of the X'a) then I looked up a few and sent them emails with a picture of the table. They all replied and I picked the one I liked best, not necessarily the cheapest but just the one I liked most!

Just a thought !!

Why don't you enrol on an upholstery course and do it yourself? Imagine how much more comfortable you'd be whilst lounging, knowing that you had restored it yourself? :o

Who knows - you might even discover a new career!

Well, it belonged to Mother and her Grandmother before that. Mother re-upholstered it herself many times and my grandfather also had a go - it was originally stuffed with horse hair and straw. Neither of them experts so it needs some professional tlc.

As for a new a new career for me... one is waiting in the wings......
