AnonyMouse_379
Hello all Posting this for a colleague.... if anyone has any good ideas of how to develop calculation in real life experience in FS. We do adult led activities-eg cooking, specific skill teaching-1 more/less, difference etc and ad hoc stuff as are there more packed lunches or hot dinners, are there more boys or girls here today.... but what else could we do. Calculations are on the SIP so being pushed in all year groups. Any suggestions welcomed. Thank you
Guest LornaW
Hi Lorna Have they looked in the document Numbers and Patterns there are some good suggestions their. Also BEAM have a book called Let's pretent Maths with ways to get maths into role play etc. There are also some ideas in Learning Play and Interacting. Open ended opportunities outdoors but I have always found that calculating was a concept it took children a while to use in their own CI play.
