Guest Posted September 27, 2010 Posted September 27, 2010 We had the dreaded phone call today, Ofsted coming next Monday, just for the day with a focus on Assessment. Wondered if anyone had any words of wisdom about what they might ask me. We are a small school and I am the only Reception teacher. Obviously I have done all the Baseline Assessments and have started the children's Learning Diaries. Any help would be v gratefully received!
AnonyMouse_30147 Posted September 27, 2010 Posted September 27, 2010 A weeks notice, can't decide if that is good or bad. Keep breathing and good luck. Others will probably advise against this but I'd be tempted to write up all the ways of how you assess with examples so that if they don't see everything you've got evidence there to support you. Will be thinking of you this week.
AnonyMouse_11396 Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 (edited) Hi just want to add my good luck wishes, and if you haven't got the evidence yet how can you show how you are going to retrieve it from your daily routines and any other methods you use. Guest LornaW Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 I would show how I was planning for the next steps given the assessments already made. They will want to know what you do with the assessments and how you use them especially at the beginning of the year. Good Luck! Lorna
Guest Posted October 4, 2010 Posted October 4, 2010 Thanks for all your words of support. Had a v positive day, so fingers crossed! Getting feedback later!
