Guest
Hi i am looking for inspiration!!!! Our topic at the moment in a mixed Reception and Year 1 class is People who help us. I have a lesson observation next week by the headteacher who has told me he is looking for outstanding teaching and learning and something inspirational and memorable for the children - he doesnt want much!!!!!! Any ideas would be gratefully recieved as i am feeling a little overwhelmed and stressed about the whole thing!!!
Guest
Hello Would it be possible to get a local visitor in such as a policeman, paramedic or fireman? Could do this before your observation and use as stimulus for discussion i.e formulate some questions based upon what they said or did. Maybe set role play in response as well. Remeber to make it outstanding your head will be looking for outcomes - what have they learnt from the lesson that they didn't know before or what can they do now that they couldn't before. You could also look at staying safe.
