Guest
Hi I am a teacher in a recently opened early years within a primary school and I am being observed by the Head next week as part of my CPD. The usual form used by the Head for lesson observations is designed for KS1/2 classes and is not really appropriate for early years provision. Does anyone know of an appropriate lesson observation format for an EYFS class? Thank you Sorry I realise I have posted this in the wrong forum - oops! Guest
Yes, there is an early years obs form, although they're fairly new to us, I've only had two recorded on the new ones. Will ask head where to access and post for you tomorrow- HTH Carla..

Guest LornaW
I just use a timeline and write just what I see no judgements etc and then use this to discuss with the practitioner after the observation. Then I use the Ofsted criteria and highlight where we have agreed the lesson was and the environment and then come to an overall judgement together.
