Guest
Hi just wondering how many of you who work in a day nursery have an Administrator? If so do you mind me asking what hours do they work and what are their duties? Thanks
AnonyMouse_11396
Hi don't work in a nursery, we are sessional i'm afraid but we have an Administrator and she is a godsend. A little intrigued as i presumed all Day Nurseries would have one, see we learn something new everyday. Who does all the relentless paperwork at your place then ?????? . Guest
well there's the rub!! I had one, she left for pastures new, she's not being replaced, it's down to me and deputy, who has become super nummary, to do it all; finding I am spending all day every day doing Admin stuff and not actually managing or leading my team
AnonyMouse_13453
I manage a Preschool and do all the admin and always have. I do it in the evenings and at weekends and get paid for an additional hour a day for it
Guest
Hi there! We used to have one but when she left, a role was created and someone was promoted to deputy manager and she now does the majority of the paperwork. She's full time and works 35 hours a week, but also covers when staff are on holiday or sick

AnonyMouse_2418
I have one in my Nursery - she works 25 hours a week, does all my invoices, accounts, typing and admin stuff for the staff and myself, and the other bits that would take time like contacting parents sending out prospectus's and general phone answering. Our payroll is outsourced, she has more than enough to do as it is. She is a godsend and I really notice if she isn't in as all that stuff falls to me . AnonyMouse_2418
Must admit I couldn't believe my luck when I started at my place - having to do it all for the five years previously made me realise how much is involved and how much it stopped me spending time with the children and staff. I count my blessings daily How about taking on someone doing an apprenticeship ? Assume they have business studies students for NVQ'S ? May be worth contacting training providers or local colleges ?
