Stupid Question

Recommended Posts

I don't think you're talking rubbish, either Steve.

Reminds me of twins we had in our nursery. Sister started at pre-school first, because her brother wasn't ready to be left. When he started a few weeks later, he settled really well, but he always deferred to his sister, and looked for her when upset etc.

They've gone to separate schools now, and we all wondered how they would get on when they were separated for the first time. We were all really positive about how great 'big school' would be, and he's settled fantastically well, apparently.

Perhaps given the expectation that all will be well and he'd be having a great time, he felt more confident. Perhaps he felt he should always defer to his sister because nursery was 'her place' first before it was 'his place' and he was always on her territory. Now he's at 'his school' he can be his own man.

Its a theory, isn't it?

Gosh what a brave mum, 2 schools!! I found it difficult enough having 2 children at the same school, but in different phases and therefore different playgrounds and both wanting me to wait untill the bell went at the start of the day! End of the day was never the same problem cos they finished at different times.
