Hi everyone

we have been invited by the rest of the school to take part in Maths week. Has anyone done this before and if so have you any ideas of how best to go forward with this in Nursery? We would like to be able to send activities home (unfortunately we can't invite parents in as they are already coming to another workhop in a couple of weeks).

Would love some inspiratation to get us started :o

Thanks from me to LornaW. I have been looking into promoting maths through stories and this list will give me an idea of where the gaps are in our provision. Brilliant :o

Goodness! What a list! Thank you.

We did a FS maths week last year and doing it again later on this month as part of whole school thing. Spent a day on each area....NLC, CALC and SSM. Set up lots of activities, only Numeracy. Didn't do anything else. Did lots of measuring, weighing, number games etc. This time want to do more problem soving, but not sure what yet! Made a book about it with photos but it is in school and can't remember everything. Will be doing a parents workshop after school. Going to set up practical activities for parents to do in school hall. Staff man activity areas. Will do ytalk at the beginning about the diff strands of PSRN. Want to do a powerpoint on PSRN and asked the lovely people on here if anyone has one, but no one replied !

Good luck. If you want any more ideas, let me know!
