Guest
When you say people who help us do you mean occupation wise? Because I was thinking of the smartest giant. He helps everyone and is terribly kind...........
AnonyMouse_13453
and he's the smartest giant in town! There are some books about children visiting hospitals, dentists etc that may be ok for you
Guest
How about 'we're going on a bear hunt'- it doesn't link in with people who help us, but is always a winner, and you can always get the children involved too.
AnonyMouse_13981
There are some peppa pigs stories available, going to the dentist etc. Our children love them or is it peppa they love Chicken
AnonyMouse_19782
Our children were a bit into opposites last week and so we were looking for stories covering that sort of subject, anyway, we read one called Not Like that Like This, not a terrifically long book, but it is about a dad who gets his head stuck in the railings at the park, and groups of people come along and try to get him out in various ways, generally a version of pushing or pulling motions, in the end the Fire fighters turn up and use their gadget to force the bars apart. The children did like the book and because there was counting going on - different amounts of people turning up in the groups they engaged in that. Don't have the book here because one little chap wanted to take it home, but seem to remember it's by Tony Bradman Not strictly people who help us, but what about Monkey Puzzle where the butterfly tries to help little monkey find its mother, our children do like to join in with that one. Guest
My favourite is Ness the Nurse by Nick Sharratt. A simple rhyming story about a nurse who has ten plasters for children who hurt themselves. A maths element and lovely illustrations too.
Guest
Jasper's beanstalk's a good one for getting the children to do actions to. And I've used it successfully in an interview lesson before
