Guest
Hi Please can someone clarify this? Does a teaching assistant in a school based nursery, need to have an early years qualification or is a general teaching and learning NVQ ok? For example, if there is one teacher and three TAs all with teaching and learning NVQs, is this ok? Is it requirement to have an EY TA or just best practice? Hope that makes sense! Many thanks JB x
AnonyMouse_3307
You currently need 2:26 (as a minimum) 1 x a qualified teacher 1 x a "full and relevant" level 3+ qualification which can be checked through (previously) the CWDC website qualifications checker. https://secure.cwdcouncil.org.uk/eypqd/qualification-search It's a qualifications and numbers ratio so quantity of adults is no use if you don't have both criteria covered in the first place. If you have that in place then other adults can be differently qualified I think. Cx Edited March 23, 2011 by catma
