Don't really know the context of NVQ but think about why you would only have 1 or 2 children at a certain activity compared to say a group of 6/8 children.

Have you formulated any activity plans yet? If so consider the grouping for a variety of activities and the reasoning behind this. for example is it adult led or child initiated? How many children could an adult "teach" how to cut vegetables? A group of 8 or a smaller group, why?

Hope this helps and doesn't confuse you even more. :o

Peggy is right Anne (of course!). You need to think about the sorts of activities you might be offering, the size of the group/individual activites and why you have different sizes groups. As Peggy has suggested, you wouldn't have a large group of children for a cutting activity for obvious reasons! On the other hand it would be hopeless having one child for a game of football!! :o

[some children work better, when working on their own compared to working with a group, some observations and activities are more efficent when done individually or in a group.

:D

hope that helps
