Continuous Provision

Hi

This may sound like a really silly question and I think I know the answer but please share your views....continuous provision, what is it? Is it the provision of basic, main stay activities i.e. sand, water, role play, mark making etc and the development of the basic skills that these activities continously develop?

thanks :o

Thanks, I just wanted to be able to summerise it in a sentence really :) so really then good practise is to continously provide these basic activities on a daily basis so that children consolidate the development of these basic, fundamental skills. I suppose as well that you can best support children when there are question cards for parents and carers which may help in your setting so that they better understand the basic logic behind the activities on offer.

Hi,

You can display continous provision cards in each area of learning to do this, well at least thats what I do. I have attached the ones I used for you, just print off, laminate and display. Hope they are useful!

Devonmaid if you look in the Resources section in the Resource Library you will find many documents to give you ideas for planning, and also continuous provision sheets which you can go through and adapt for the needs and resources in your own setting.
