AnonyMouse_30147
Hi, we have a new member of staff covering maternity leave and I just wondered which policies she has to have a copy of and which ones we can just say they're in the folder if you need them. Cheers for your help x
AnonyMouse_5970
I give all new members of staff a copy of our policies. We go through the main points of the key ones (e.g. health and safety, safeguarding, confidentiality) at induction and I give the rest to read. The new staff member then signs a declaration to say that they have read the policies and agree to comply with them. I have done this with someone covering maternity leave as they are with us for quite a few months. If someone was going to be very short term, I would probably give them the key policies and make sure they were aware of the others. AnonyMouse_8466
I gave every staff member a copy of every policy for their staff handbook. That way if we needed to discuss a policy at a staff meeting everyone had everything they needed, and it made it easy to review them as and when necessary.
