Playground Plants

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

I haven't posted anything for a very long time but would really love a little friendly advice. I want to brighten up my playground with a few tubs of plants. Thought I might do a sensory garden but also need some ideas for some all year round planting ideas. Wanted to use little conifer trees but these are not suitable as some children can be allergic to them. Has anyone got any ideas???

Good morning Lots

I am sure you will get lots of great ideas so as a starter try

Cov ering the five sneses is a great way to start the garden and I would also suggest you need to think carefully about the long summer holiday and how the plants will be cared for during this time as I know from experience that well tended school gardens can go to seed and indeed die due to a very warm summer.

You can also download a very useful document at www.galaxy.bedfordshire.gov.uk/.../creating_sensory_garden.doc that may be of help.

Happy gardening

Lorna
