Guest
Hi everyone, Just wondered if anyone had any ideas for a guided writing session for reception children to last for about 15 minutes as beginning observed. Also does anyone have any ideas for a interactive calculating activity that involves all children for about 10 minutes. Any ideas would be gratefully received. Looking for some inspiration. Thanks in advance Edited June 12, 2011 by Guest

Guest
What is the teaching point you want to develop in the guided writing session?Cx Think its all sorted now, we want them to use full stops/spaces and capital letters. We are focusing on the MA children and thought we would give them a reason for writing e.g telling the new reception about what its like at school. We are going to use our bears that we take on our home visits. Then get them to think of a sentence. Talk to their partner about it. Then adult to model and make mistakes. Children to write on paper with a nice border. Then talk it though with them and get them to evaluate with smiley faces.
