Guest ShelleyT Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 Does anyone have any good suggestions for books for the topic 'all about me'? I have thought of the funny bones books and owl babies but other than that my mind is blank! Any ideas, especially for thinking about family. All suggestions appreciated! x

All suggestions appreciated! x Well there was the one recently spoken of called My Mum and Dad Make me Laugh, a story about a family who like spots, stripes and elephants, quite amusing. I wonder if one I read about today would be good for this, Once there were Giants, about a little girl growing up and then becoming a mother herself. What about the Elephant stories, Five Minutes Peace etc. anything by Shirley Hughes. When mum turned into a monster (ours love this and are unsettled by it too)
AnonyMouse_13453 Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 Melvin Berger has made a range of books about senses etc. They are good little books. Have you tried going to Amazon and typing in 'about me' and seeing what comes up?
Guest Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 (edited) Have uploaded some planning which I used when I was working in Cornwall, so a little 'old' (2002), but very useful - it includes the following, if you haven't time to trawl through the whole planning cycle! Stories and information books ‘Peepo’ by Janet and Allen Ahlberg ‘The Sad Tale of Veronica who Played the Violin’ by David Mckee. ‘Danny’s Birthday’ by Mike Dickinson. ‘The last Noo-Noo’ by Jill Murphy. ‘Need a trim Jim?’ by Kaye Umanski. ‘Peace at Last’ by Jill Murphy. ‘The Baby’s Catalogue’ by Janet and Allen Ahlberg. ‘Baby Loves Hugs and Kisses’ by Michael Lawrence. ‘Visiting the Dentist’ by Althea. ‘Going to the Dentist’ by A Civardi. ‘Mrs Wishy Washy Big Book’. ‘Doing the Washing’ by Sarah Garland. ‘Tidy up!’ by Julia Lawson. ‘Cut it!’ by Julia Lawson. Rhymes and songs There is a lovely selection in ‘This little puffin’ by Elizabeth Matterson: • One finger one thumb. • Two fat gentlemen. • Heads, shoulders, knees and toes. • Rock-a-bye-baby. • Hush little baby. • We all clap hands together. • Here we go round the Mulberry Bush. Hope you find it useful too. x Edited July 30, 2011 by Guest Removal of copyright material.
