AnonyMouse_19762
How big are the antlers? Full sized stag or moose? I wasn't personally aquainted with the original owner - but they are not full sized! unless of course they are still on the head! Ah well........now that you mention it.......ahem 'fraid these have a bit of skull attached so the poor deer is most certainly deceased So thought I would update this.......my deputy was actually most impressed with the antlers although she did say "where have you scrounged those from" - what is it with my nearest and dearest I do not scrounge......well OK I do....don't we all?! I thought that I would just put the antlers on the Interest Table and let the children find them in their own time.........hmmmm - well that didn't work - they didn't notice them at all Part way through the morning I just happened to pick up a firefighter's helmet that someone had discarded - I put it on my head and waited for someone to notice......soon there were cries of "you're not a fireman" - "oh yes I am" I said spraying my imaginary hose (like you do! )........took the firefighter's helmet off - replaced it with the antlers saying "look, what am I now"? Much laughter and calling "You're a reindeer" ..........so that made a good intro....will wait and see what they choose to do with them.......they haven't asked any questions so far - hope they do - or I may have to come up with a cunning plan! Edited September 14, 2011 by sunnyday

AnonyMouse_26037
I thought that I would just put the antlers on the Interest Table and let the children find them in their own time.........hmmmm - well that didn't work - they didn't notice them at all Been there! Is it just me who when they put something really cool out to be 'discovered' finds themselves loitering near the spot?!
AnonyMouse_30147
I took small antlers in for my Year Ones and they acted out the Selfish Crocodile and used it as poorly tooth!
