I know that childminders and preschools need risk assessments for everything in the child's indoor environment e.g. what the risks are of using the bikes, how do we minimise the risks, check the temperature of the taps etc etc. Do Reception classes need a really written down comprehensive risk assessment too? thanks Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
AnonyMouse_4562 Posted October 4, 2011 Share Posted October 4, 2011 Not dim at all! We were wondering the same thing until OFSTED told us -YES! But we were advised that a tick list is fine - just check each morning that everything is in order, I don't think you need to evaluate the actual risk of using the equipment - just that there are no further risks e.g. floor coverings are not causing a trip hazard, chairs are steady etc. Hope that helps x Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
