AnonyMouse_11653
For 1 of our units we have to have an up to date appraisal, as I am the manager and the owner my tutor has suggested a bottoms up appraisal ie where the staff carry out my appraisal! So question is would anyone have a template/copy of this type of appraisal, I have the normal ones which the staff are given but as 4 members of staff are going to be involved I dont think that form will work. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!! Kris
AnonyMouse_6721
HI I don't want to put a dampener on things but my sister did some work on this for her Degree course in Human Resources and it doesn't work. I don't know the ins and outs of it though. I think you should give it alot of thought before carrying it out.
AnonyMouse_73
I think how well this works depends on many things and isn't as blanket as 'it doesn't work'. We use both kinds of appraisals at work, and I must say it took me a while to get used to the idea that I would be appraising my line manager. But you get used to it. If you work in a team that is very close, and you are open with your staff team about why you are doing it, there is no reason at all why it shouldn't work. Sadly I don't have a separate format, can you just adapt the one you would usually use? Edited October 10, 2011 by mundia
AnonyMouse_3735
My appraisal was always done this way.. committee had no clue so we worked out it would be easier - they agreed... but we used the same forms.. worked well with us, but as Mundia says it was a small team who were able to work togehter - never caused us any issues..
