Steve Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 Hi all - For anyone who hasn't already read it, this is a very interesting publication (September 2011). It's very wide ranging and includes a very revealing table on page 225 on provider wages. Contents include: Characteristics of provision Places and attendance Workforce composition Qualifications Training Recruitment and retention Income and expenditure Find it here: Childcare and EY Providers Survey 2010

AnonyMouse_7172 Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 Smashin' I love a good book! When we've all read it we can decide if it was a Thriller, a Horror, a Novel etc etc my guess is that it won't be a Romance! (Tho' could be 'a Penny Dreadful'!!) pw xx Edited by Sue to put a close bracket in just to please PW

AnonyMouse_30147 Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 aah not that long really, mainly tables and graphs. Some interesting stats too.
Guest Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 Didn't tell me anything I didn't know - poor wages, long hours, although I did only skim read it maybe I missed the bit that said what a valued workforce we are. The figures for settings closing are not good for an independent private preschool like myself, will just have to pull my belt in a bit more and wait for better times, better wages and better hours
