Hi everyone

Our topic this term is Space with Light and Dark linking into it.

These are ideas we have so far...

CLL

Man in the Moon

Catch a Star

Whatever Next

What Best Friends Do Next...

Aliens Love Underpants

CD

Space packs - using boxes and bottles

Space ship - using large box

Space station - as role play area

Planets - use for display

KUW

Light and Dark - Dark tent with light up objects - will extend

Gloop - Alien slime - tuff spot with mark making tools

I know PD and PSRN will link into lots of these as a lot of the children have an interest in DR WHO and we expect this to be incorporated too etc

Does anyone else have any other ideas? I'm going to do activity plans for each of these too.

Painting / collaging aliens, making up rhyming or alliterative names for them.

I've used shapes from a shape sorter to print aliens, using the different shapes for different features. After modelling some examples the children came up with some great aliens.

A small world space scene on a tuff spot has gone down a treat with previous classes of mine.

Cait - How do you do balloon prints?

You blow up a balloon but leave it a bit soft. Put teaspoonfulls of different coloured paint onto a saucer or something so that they can touch each other. Using the tied end of the balloon, plop it onto the paint and the, using two hands, push it down onto the paint, pick it up by the tied end and then push it down onto the paper with two hands - taking care it doesn't suddenly skitter off to one side! You get some lovely colour mixing
