Guest Posted February 23, 2012 Share Posted February 23, 2012 Has anyone asked the fire dept to come out and do a general visit for the children (not to risk assess and install smoke alarms), if you have could you direct me...do you phone the local fire station or is there a particular division to contact. AnonyMouse_3735 Posted February 23, 2012 Share Posted February 23, 2012 We went to the local fire station and asked what we had to do.. think we had to send a letter with a request and they gave us the address and who to send it to.. all very helpful and the children loved it.. the neighbours all came out too to see where the fire was when they set off the sirens.. AnonyMouse_11396 Posted February 23, 2012 Share Posted February 23, 2012 Hi we always have to contact the Divisional Commander in writing and then the local watch would contact us to arrange the visit, times etc. Well worth the bother as it's a fantastic opportunity to let the children explore this service in our community as well as fire safety.
