AnonyMouse_38743 Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 I have a little girl in my Reception class who has epilepsy. She has complex partial seizures (absences), mostly at home but occasionally at school. She does not want to talk about her seizures (either at home or at school) and so, although she has warning signs, does not like to tell anyone she feels unwell. Mum is really keen to find a book to help her begin to talk about her experiences. Does anyone know of any good books? I have looked on Amazon but I'm not sure if any of the books are any good. Her Mum has one book but its a bit in depth for a five year old! Any advice would be great.
AnonyMouse_3735 Posted March 7, 2012 Posted March 7, 2012 Dont know if the parents are online, but may be worth them checking out the epilepsy websites that have forums, they could then go and may find the advice they need there from other parents, http://www.epilepsy.org.uk/ this site has a free forum ... not been further but it may be a place to ask..
AnonyMouse_38743 Posted March 7, 2012 Author Posted March 7, 2012 Thanks for ideas, I will check these out.
AnonyMouse_3401 Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 If she is having complex partial seizures she is unlikely to remember anything to be able to discuss with you.
