AnonyMouse_3139
Provide the resources for making playdough and give them to the children to mix everything up and see what you end up with. Our children made the most fabulous dough a couple of weeks ago without measuring anything, lots of little hands adding water, flour, colour and escence. AnonyMouse_5664
When we did it, we did a day on water, then sound, then electricity, then play dough. Also one year did the whole week on water. Probably could find my plans somewhere if you want.
AnonyMouse_32166
i came on here to look for ideas for science as we too as a school are having a science week next week :-) so far i am thinking of making armpit fudge http://guidinguk.freeservers.com/armpit-fudge.html and found a blog: 'Jana Roo Can Do' http://jadaroo.blogspot.com/2011/05/science-making-butter.html where they have made butter using a marble and a jar and then bread in a bag which i thought would be good for snack. also tempted to try pink slime from Alistair Bryce Clegg's blog using marshmallows http://abcdoes.typepad.com/ and there is also mixing oil with food colouring and then dropping in into water/ bouncy raisins in lemonade layered liquids: four tablespoons of veg oil in a jar, then slowly add four tablespoons of water mixed with food colouring and see what happenes then slowly add 4 tablespoons of golden syrup and see what happens. making volcanoes/potions: fill a pot with vinegar, add squirt of washing up liquid, drop of food colouring and a splash of glitter then add a spoon of bicarb of soda, and it should all bubble over the edge of the pot like wizard/ witches potions dropping mentos mints into cola explosion: http://www.sciencekids.co.nz/experiments/dietcokementos.html or watch video here: http://www.eepybird.com/ balloon rockets: http://www.sciencebob.com/experiments/balloonrocket.php now just have to find some think i can do with the rest of school as doing a rotation where go round the different classes and i did most of the above last year so can't really do again!. Will go and look at the website suggested in a previous post :-) I think its going to be a messy week next week! Em
