Guest Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 Hi, Would anyone know what level of supervision must you have for children over the age of 8 years. In an old Ofsted Regulation book dated 2001 children had to be within sight or hearing distance of a member of staff. I do not seem to be able to find any updated information on this since the new registers came out. As we are a Nursery as well as an out of school club we are on 3 of the registers. Having asked Ofsted they say supervision for this age group is what we make it.? Just thought if anyone knows of any documents that would give clear indication of the supervision levels. Thanks
Guest Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 Hi We have always just used the same ratios as for those under 8 yrs ie 1:8 and no child is left alone (apart from going to the toilet!). The only thing I can think of is have you checked this document? Requirements for the Childcare Register childcare providers on non-domestic or domestic premises.pdf
