Hi,

 

I have my first reception class in sept and wondered if there were any good websites/books/documents out there that would help me better understand the teaching of letters and sounds in early years (apart from letters and sounds book of course),

I like using the Jolly Phonics songs and signs, and phonics play website.

we use education city for the interactive phonics games they are fab but you have to pay a subscription each year. The letters and sounds document is really all you need, resources to go with each phase can be found on www.twinkl.com

Hi the website www.letters-and-sounds.co.uk is great for games. Please find a phase 1 presentation attached which I shared for a PD session and the assessment material I use.

www.phonicsplay.co.uk has some great interactive games taken from letters and sounds. There are a few free resources such as buried treasure availbale but it costs a small amount (about £20 maybe) for full access and its worth every penny! x
